Episode 8 - Picking Apart the Pandemic

(Recorded on 24th November)Recorded during England's second lockdown, Adam and Georgia felt it was only natural for a politics podcast to record an episode about the coronavirus pandemic! We discuss the impact of the pandemic on the UK thus far, including the approaches taken by the different nations.
We're also aware that because this episode has come out a little later than expected some of the issues may seem a little outdated, so be sure to watch out for our follow up episode!

Georgia and Yorcast's new host, Adam Spencer, discuss tonight's US Election in relation to past elections that could set a similar precedent, particularly focusing on 1968, 2000 and 2008.

We're back! Charlie and Georgia discuss the ongoing protests in America and beyond following the murder of George Floyd; what to make of them, what impact they'll have going forward, and why surrounding Churchill's statue in aluminium won't make the problem go away.

Episode 4 - #MeToo: from Hollywood to HR

Our new host, Georgia Jones, and I recorded this episode in which we discussed the progression of the #MeToo movement from a hashtag used by Hollywood actors to something affecting the lives of everyone in the workplace, within families and online. Unfortunately we weren't able to get this episode out before global civilization began to collapse, so does any of this even matter? If we survive this ongoing pandemic, we'll revisit the topic some time in the future!

Episode 3 - Polarisation and Populism

Just a short episode before Polsoc's upcoming AGM on the 27th! Charlie talks about political polarisation and populism, and argues that the only way to stop having people like Trump emerge is to tackle the environment that created him in the first place, by accepting that our politics are divided and adopting radical policies that would actually address the discontent and poverty that fuel populism.

Charlie discusses the upcoming Democratic Primaries and argues why his favourite old guy running is better than the other ones.

This is Yorcast, the podcast run by the York Politics Society! For our debut episode, our hosts (Charlie Buckley and Sam Rigby) discuss the upcoming general election and pray it means we won't have to talk about Brexit anymore. 
Apologies for our umm-ing and ahh-ing, we're new to podcasting and hopefully soon enough we'll sound more like professional broadcasters than year 4's doing a show-and-tell presentation.
